Urging Osmosis
Urging Osmosis is a workshop led by Keetra Dixon, one of the RISD visiting designers in 2016. In her workshop, students exchanged inspirational aesthetics of various artists and imitated their form-making process. I was inspired by an artist famous for paper cutouts and created many different white shapes out of marbled patterns.
After transferring the marbling cutouts into the poster series, I imagined another translation for the object as a three dimensional and practical product. The final outcome was thus designed in this way by arranging the cutouts into a perpendicular shape to form the book stop.
